Purpose of meeting: EXEMPT INFORMATION – TO CONSIDER
PASSING THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION IN RESPECT OF THE
ITEMS LISTED BELOW.
That the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of
business on the grounds that they involve likely disclosure of information
prejudicial to the public interest as defined in the Local Government Act 1972.
MB, proposed, seconded RR, nine in favour, PC against.
a. Letter from J. Harman.
b. Discipline Committee date of hearing.
c. Appointment for MR B. Jordan to visit OHP.
d. Beachcroft.
e. Police evidence copy.

Declaration of interest: None.
a. Letter from J. Harman: Letter from J. Harman read out. Council proposed
that the contents were not a council matter. Proposed DE, seconded RI,
nine in favour, one abstention.
b. Discipline Committee date of hearing: Committee given a mandate to set
date to suit members availability, possibly the 27th September or earlier.
Proposed PC, seconded DE, all in favour.
c. Appointment for Mr B. Jordan to visit OHP: JP to make appointment for
B. Jordan to visit OHP at council’s expense, approx cost £150.00.
Proposed PL, seconded MB, Nine in favour, PC abstained.
d. Beachcroft: PC left the meeting after a proposal by him to disassociate the
council from any further action that Beachcroft intends to take against Mr J.
Harman failed to obtain a seconder.
It was proposed that the council supports Beachcroft trying to reach a
settlement with J. Harman about costs. Proposed PL, seconded JP, five in
favour, BL,DE, RI and SM against.
e. Police evidence copy: Clerk instructed to engage local solicitor to obtain
copy of witness statement. Proposed PL, seconded JP, seven in favour, two
abstained MB and DE.
