Mrs C. Ireland’s complaint reference Cllr D. Pearce. Letter received stating that
Cllr Pearce gave information to Mr Harman which came from an “in committee”
meeting. This information was given before the minutes had been accepted and had
caused Mr Harman to feel he was being “hung out to dry” by the council. Cllr Pearce
apologised to the Council and to Mrs Ireland and in a written statement gave his
reasons for this matter and corrected any misleading views stated in the letter. Cllr
Pearce stated that his main intention was to inform Mr Harman of the council’s
attempt to ease the situation with Beachcroft. AS proposed the council accept the
apology saying “we could all learn from this”, seconded PC, seven in favour, JP
abstained.
Allianz Letter received stating that J. Harman’s case was not a defamation claim as
thought and all legal costs are covered by the insured’s policy. Clerk to write to
Allianz and query the VAT which the council have paid on this case to Beachcroft.
B. Jordan’s suspension update. Disciplinary meeting to be held on the 20th
September, 2007. The clerk read out several emails received from Mr B. Jordan.
Beachcroft. Letter received from Cameron Dye stating that they had contacted Mr
Harman and explained he now had instruction to pursue the costs order. Mr Harman
informed them that he was considering his position and taking legal advice. Mr
Harman feels the court should overturn its decision because of the actions of Mr B.
Jordan.
Tenders for grass cutting 2008/2009. Tenders received from Silvanus and Paul
Solomons. Tenders to be refused and the clerk to write and say that the council
