Purpose of meeting: EXEMPT INFORMATION – TO CONSIDER
PASSING THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION IN RESPECT OF THE
ITEMS LISTED BELOW.
That the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of
business on the grounds that they involve likely disclosure of information
prejudicial to the public interest as defined in the Local Government Act 1972.
Proposed RR, seconded PL, all in favour.
PC apologised and left the meeting due to his mandate to the public to ensure there would be
less secret (“In Committee”) meetings. He states that “he would not be attending any more
secret (“In Committee”) meetings.

Declaration of interest: None.
Disciplinary hearing held 3rd October, 2007: RR as Chairman of the Disciplinary
committee gave the hearing’s decision to the full council. The following press release
to be given out as the only statement to be made on this matter.
B. Jordan dismissed with immediate effect after a disciplinary hearing held on the 3rd
October, 2007 for the following
 Bringing Council into disrepute.
 Withholding information from members.
 Accessing Council’s web site after suspension date.
An Appeals committee to be set up in preparation should B. Jordan appeal to the
full council. Members to be asked to serve are AH, AS, and DE. The clerk to
write to the members and ask for written confirmation that they would be
willing to attend/not attend. Proposed JP, seconded RR, three for , three abstentions
namely BL, RI and AS.
Maintenance person’s contract: To be reviewed by the Employment committee
bearing in mind possible in house grass cutting. The clerk to check that the original
contract was signed and confirmed. The clerk to set up an Employment committee
meeting in

October to look at the maintenance person’s contract and the employment of a
clerk to fill Mr Jordan’s position. Proposed JP, seconded RR, all in favour.
E-mails from Julian Harman and letter from Mrs Clare Ireland, reference Harman V Camelford
Town Council and Beachcroft e-mails.
It was agreed that this matter was in the hands of the solicitor and out of the council’s
control. The clerk to reply to J. Harman and C. Ireland giving the reason for the
council not getting involved.
Love Parks Week. AS stated that money donated for Love parks Week was not for
Parks for People which is a lottery based grant application. Love Parks Week asked
for funds to run the Love Parks week and next year they will hold another week so
any funds left over will not have to be handed back. As agreed earlier this money will
be removed from the council account and paid to the CDCDT account.
