As most local people know, Davidstow was turned into an airfield by the Ministry of Defence during the second world war. The RAF were based there and flew many sorties from the location.  Many did not return.  Dave Keast of Trefrew Road in Camelford has purchased the old shower block, which is still more or less the same as the day it was vacated after the war, apart from being turned into a piggery for a while, and he is refurbishing it to become a museum of memorabilia of the Davidstow war years.  There will be artifacts, bits of planes and plenty of old photographs in memory of those who used the base.  He works alone on a labour of love to give some of the history back to the area.  In memory of the few.
